Scientific conditions for quiz

Standards for designing and producing electronic tests:

It includes:

1- The questions that make up the test.

2-The multimedia that was used.

3- The time specified for the test.

  4-How to secure the test.

5- Forms of feedback. We discuss these elements in some detail:

1- Test questions:

The questions presented through the electronic test vary depending on the type of test and the type of skill to be measured. They are also affected by the capabilities and characteristics that the Internet provides for these tests, as well as the age stage of the students and their skills in dealing with the computer. The questions vary and include: -

A)- Multiple Choice questions:

They are questions that direct the student to choose one of the alternatives from the options provided. They usually consist of three to four alternatives. The question consists of four main elements: the root (the text of the question), the options (the alternatives available after the root), the key (the correct answer in the list of choices), and the distractions (the wrong answers). in the list of options).

When designing this type of question, the following must be taken into account:

(a) - Write one sentence that is completed with one of the available choices.

(b) - Write one correct choice.

(c) - Writing a group of incorrect choices as distractions.

(d) - Take care to leave enough space between the alternatives.

(e) - Change the location of the correct answers.

b)- True/False questions:

It is a form of selection to determine the correctness or incorrectness of the presented paragraph, but there is a set of criteria that must be taken into account when designing true and false questions, which are:

(a) Write the question from one main idea.

(b) Distribute negative and positive questions in an appropriate manner.

(c) Distribute correct and incorrect questions in an appropriate manner.

C) - Matching Drag and Drop questions:

This type is displayed in the form of two columns, one containing the stimuli and the other containing the responses. It must be taken into account that the number of responses is greater than or equal to the number of stimuli. Images and texts can be used in this type.

2-Multimedia that was used:

Which are (written texts - sound - still pictures and animation)

3- Time test:

Test time is considered one of the most important elements that make up the electronic test. Several factors related to the elements of constructing the test itself and the time specified for it intervene in determining the test time, which are:

1) - The number of questions that make up the test and the time spent on each question.

2) - Type of objective questions (multiple choice - true and false).

3) - The type of feedback used and the time it takes.

There are also some principles that must be followed when creating the question:

True and false questions:

  • Limit the question to one idea or concept
  •  Write questions that test an important idea
  • Avoid copying phrases from the textbook 0
  • Make questions as short as possible
  •  Write questions that are clearly correct or clearly incorrect.
  •  Get rid of what might be called (free gifts).
  •  Try to equate the paragraphs to which the answer is correct and the ones to which the answer is incorrect. It is preferable to have more paragraphs with errors.
  • ‎ Avoid some phrases; Such as: (Eat, always, never, only...)
  •  Write the questions in the affirmative for
  •  Be careful not to write a specific pattern and use it constantly so that it makes it easier for students to discover it.

Multiple choice questions:

  •  Choose the wording of the question carefully; It is best to arrange the answers or alternatives vertically; The introduction must present a complete question.
  •  Write the introductions to the questions in proof form
  •  Write the options so that the answer is at the end
  •  Make sure there is no more than one correct answer.
  •  Eliminate the statements that lead to the answer.
  •  Eliminate unnecessary repetition.
  •  Make all alternatives equal in length.
  •  Do not use specific words in the introduction and repeat them
  •  Beware of grammatical structures indicating the answer. For example, if the introduction is in the singular form; And one or more of the options are in the plural form. The students were given a key to the correct answer

Completion questions:

  •  Set questions that can be answered objectively
  •  Bring a correction key that contains all the acceptable answers for each question.
  •  Beware of open-ended questions
  •  Try to write a complete sentence or semi-sentence before asking for an answer.
  •  Get rid of free giveaways.
  •  Limit one or two spaces in each question
  •  If the answer is in numbers, state the units (meters, tons, miles...).
